Independent Producer Guidelines
If you are an independent producer and your work meets the goals outlined here, we welcome your submission.
NHPTV places special emphasis on offering excellent content related to New Hampshire, Northern New England and the Boston area. There are several ways NHPTV supports independent producers and their work:
- Presenting station to PBS, APT or other national distribution
Defined as the delivery by NHPTV of a completed program for national broadcast.
- Co-Production
Defined as a project in which NHPTV and the outside production entity act as true co-producers, sharing ownership, copyright and responsibility for editorial content, production services and fundraising.
- NHPTV Production
Defined as a project produced by NHPTV. This includes someone with a project idea who is not a producer or affiliated with a production entity and who is interested in collaborating with NHPTV in some way on a project.
NHPTV frequently serves as the presenting station for national distribution. NHPTV less frequently engages in co-productions. In all cases, NHPTV will screen a rough cut of the production prior to making a decision.
NHPTV production and programming priorities:
- Programs that celebrate New Hampshire and New England’s unique history and culture
- Programs about quality of life
- Programs that educate, entertain and enrich
NHPTV operates in a limited resource environment and seeks to engage with producers on a no-cost or limited-cost basis. Download the NHPTV INDEPENDENT PRODUCER GUIDELINES
