Comments on Obama Presidency
Reflections on the Upcoming Inauguration of America’s First African American President.
It’s the most anticipated inaugural ever—as America swears in its first African American President. What does it mean to those in NH who worked to get him there – and, what are the expectations once he takes office? NH Outlook’s Beth Carroll hosts a panel discussion with Dr. Marie Metoyer, a former MLK award winner and retired psychiatrist, who witnessed segregation as a girl; Ned Helms, a NH primary veteran, explains why this campaign was so different on so many levels; and Erin Thesing, a UNH student, shares why she suspended her studies to volunteer for the Obama campaign.
Governor Lynch on Surviving the Recession
In mid-February, Gov. Lynch will deliver his budget speech for the next biennium. New Hampshire faces an estimated 500 million dollar shortfall. NH Outlook's Richard Ager asks the Governor how the state will make it through this recession.
