Planned Giving

Consider naming NHPBS in a bequest, asset, or trust.

For many, a charitable bequest is a unique expression of appreciation for what public broadcasting brings to our lives and our communities. The thoughtfulness of individuals who have made planned gifts to New Hampshire PBS has helped sustain and grow public television programs and services for over 60 years. Through your will or estate plan, you can name New Hampshire PBS as the beneficiary of your estate or a portion of your estate. Your bequest provides an enduring legacy that will live on to uphold the standards of public broadcasting in our state for the benefit of others in the years to come.

We've partnered with FreeWill to provide our supporters with three online resources to make planned giving easier and more accessible. Use these free tools to write a legal will and create a legacy gift, give directly from your IRA, or support NHPBS through a transfer of appreciated stocks. You can also let us know that you've named New Hampshire PBS in your existing will or trust here.

The John Swope Legacy Society

"I hope you will join me in ensuring a strong and sustainable public television station for generations to come by including NHPBS in your estate plans."

— John Swope

One of the greatest compliments that John Swope ever received was from a former colleague at Chubb Insurance. They ran into each other on the street one day, and she said, "John, why didn't you tell me those were going to be the good ol' days?" During his 30 years at Chubb, 18 of them as president, Swope was committed to his employees and to creating a vibrant and engaging work atmosphere. That commitment to community is what still drives him today in retirement. Swope is very active in his home city of Concord, and as a board member of New Hampshire PBS.

To honor Swope and his devotion to the future of NHPBS, station President & CEO Peter Frid and the NHPBS Board of Directors have established the John Swope Legacy Society.

“NHPBS is a time proven organization that contributes to NH,” says Swope. “It is an untapped resource and capable of doing much more. Life is about planning for the future. I hope you will join me in ensuring a strong and sustainable public television station for generations to come by including NHPBS in your estate plans.”
