Wilderness Camps

Join Windows to the Wild host Willem Lange as he explores the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Medawisla Camp.  The camp is part of an AMC plan to preserve the sporting camp tradition in Maine’s 100 mile wilderness region. Lange snowshoes through some spectacular scenery as he makes his way to Medawisla. There hearty meals and a warm cabin await. Located on the shores of Second Branch Pond Medawisla Wilderness Camps offer a year round destination in the Moosehead Lake region. They offer fishing, boating, cross country skiing, and even dog sled rides.You can also travel from camp to camp along a trail that leads from Medawisla to West Branch Pond Camps and Little Lyford Pond Camps.
