Martin Luther King Jr. was inspired to become a peaceful warrior by Gandhi, who led India to independence from Britain through the first non-violent civil resistance movement ever. Martin Luther King, Jr. worked in similar fashion to destroy segregation in the South. He inspired thousands of Americans to work for equal rights, so that the goals of the founders of our Constitution could be fulfilled.
