She was told by the fairies that there were 100 children!! This was the biggest number she had ever read to! Betty gathered all the children together and counted them. But there was only 99 children! Betty searched everywhere for the missing child and she found him under a bead. She learned his name was Tylar. Betty asked Tylar why he was under the bed. Tylar answered in a very quit voice, "I don't want to come out because I can't read. Everyone laughs at me." Betty understood and she said "why don't you come out and sit on my lap while I read." Tylar answered "Ah. OK."
