Thirteenth Annual Reading Rainbow Contest

Blue Moon

As Blue Moon approached the unkempt ratty house, he did not see his friend James Waffle. He still had hopes of them being together again, so he was worried and disappointed that James wasn't there. After weeks of waiting, Blue Moon heard voices. He galloped to the front yard, where he saw two people carrying out his owner, James Waffle. He had died. At that moment, Blue Moon decided he was going to stay at his house, because that is where he belonged. Days went by, and still he had no food or water. One evening, on a clear starry full moon night, the beautiful Arabian went to sleep, and never awoke. He had joined James Waffle in the full circle of life. They are now together, once again, in a wonderful place called heaven.
