Long ago deer never had antlers. The deer thought moose, caribou, and elk were all strange because they had antlers. Each day all the male deer (the bucks) would play by ramming trees to knock branches off the trees. They couldn't understand why moose, caribou, and elk would never partake in their play. The female deer (the does) didn't find the bucks play amusing and they felt sorry for the birds. One day a doe decided to teach the bucks a lesson to help protect the bird's homes. This is what she did.
