The next day, I was still asleep. Or pretended to be, at least, when my mother came up.
"Honey, time for school." She said. But I had woken up a long time ago. As I lifted my head up, my mother saw my face and gasped!
"Oh my goodness!" She said in shock. "You must have the pox!
You have to stay home today!"
"Yes!" I whispered.
"What was that?" She asked.
"Nothing." I replied.
"Well, I'll get you some medication." Then she walked out.
"Whoo hoo!" I shouted.
The next day, the marker wore off. My mom figured it out. She was mad! I got grounded for a week, but she told me to keep trying. |
