“I have no idea what you mean.” answered Bird.
“I saw it near you JUST a moment ago.”
“Oh, that was a dried leaf, I love to eat dry leaves.”
Cat sighed, “So that wasn’t a “mouse”?”
“Mouse!? Mouse is a fierce, gargantuan bear that I was calling. I had berries plucked out for him.”
“Oh.” said Cat disappointedly. “I wouldn’t dare to devour such a bulky animal as a bear.” sighed Cat. “Oh well, looks like I have to locate another animal to make a meal of.”
Later, Cat saw Mouse pop back up from the ground screeching, “I’M ALIVE!!! THAT CAT WON’T TRY TO CONSUME ME AGAIN!!!”
