Today was different. All the doctors had lost hope. They thought Alyssa wouldn't live. "Can I please see my sister?" asked Caroline for the tenth time.
"All right," said Dr. Fritz, "but only for a minute."
"Thank you!" said Caroline as she rushed into Alyssa's hospital room.
"Alyssa, can you hear me?" Caroline asked, " I love you. If you died my heart would be as empty as a dry well." All of a sudden Alyssa's heart monitor went flat.
