Rhynochetidae - kagu

Kagu
There is one species in this family. The kagu lives in the mountain forests of New Caledonia in South Pacific. It is gray with long legs; a short, square tail; a pointed bill and a crest on its head. It was once hunted for its feathers and is now endangered.
