Xenarthra - armadillos, anteaters, sloths

ArmadilloThere are 29 species in this order. They are found from the southern United States south through South America. The species in this order are insectivores or herbivores. Most species have sharp front claws. They have small brains and they don't have incisors. Most species have no, or poorly developed molars that lack enamel. Some species, like the anteaters, don't have any teeth at all! The species in this family have joints in their vertebrae that are different from all other mammals. In fact, Xenarthra means "strange joints!"
