Mr. Puer pushed the gate, but was surprised that it was padlocked.
Suddenly Mr. Puer heard a terrible scream from behind the locked gate. It was Miss Puella. Remembering her window boxes, Mr. Puer ran to grab the ladder. Putting it against the gate, he climbed up. When he reached the top, he jumped onto the fence. Mr. Puer strained to pull the ladder over the fence to the other side. He climbed down and ran to find his dear Miss Puella.
