Ma makes necklaces out of rocks and weeds from the river. She ties rocks up with weeds again and again and does not stop until she is done.
Every afternoon during spring and summer, Pa and Brother Black Eyes make bows and arrows. They tie sticks with strong weeds from the river to make bows. They make arrows with other sticks and broken cans.
Sister Saw picks flowers from along the river. She picks red, yellow, pink, red, yellow, pink… wildflowers and puts them into the baskets made by Ma.
Ma makes baskets from sticks and grass. She bends the sticks together and ties them with grass to make the baskets. |
