Leaf Rubbings
Many of the leaves may be turning red, orange, and yellow, but you can take your favorite leaf shapes and make them any color you want. Go on a walk with a trusted adult. Look for strong leaves that have fallen from trees. After gathering several different leaf shapes return home to create artwork!
Place a leaf under a piece of paper. Secure the paper so it won’t move by lightly taping it or placing a heavily weighted item like a rock at the top of the paper. Select a crayon of any color. Lightly run the crayon across the paper. You should see the outline of your leaf as well as different parts of the leaf such as the stem and veins. You can place other leaves on this piece of paper using the same or other colors.
