The Forgetting: A Portrait of Alzheimer's

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PARTNERS

NHPTV LogoNew Hampshire PBS has partnered with the following organizations to provide supporting events, information and resources in conjunction with the documentary The Forgetting: A Portrait of Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer's Association of Vermont and New Hampshire LogoAlzheimer's Association of Vermont and New Hampshire
The Alzheimer's Association is the leading national voice for people with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, their families and their caregivers. This regional chapter serves Vermont and New Hampshire, offering a toll-free Helpline, support groups, the Safe Return Program, community education programs ("Memory, Aging and Alzheimer's"), family education programs, educational conferences, a speakers' bureau, training for long-term care facility staff, a newsletter, advocacy, a resource lending library, and support for research.

Seniors Count LogoSeniors Count
The Easter Seals mission is to create solutions that improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities or other special needs and their families. In October 2001, Easter Seals New Hampshire convened a group to discuss the plight of frail seniors, many of whom have Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder. This led to the Seniors Count initiative. Seniors Count raises the visibility of the frail elderly in New Hampshire (including those with Alzheimer's), generates regional solutions and helps leverage public and private resources. The goal of Seniors Count is to create long-lasting, systemic change in the design and delivery of services to the frail elderly, allowing them to remain safely in the community for as long as possible.

New Hampshire ServiceLink Network LogoNew Hampshire ServiceLink Network
ServiceLink is a free information and supported referral service for the elderly, adults with disabilities or chronic illness, their caregivers and anyone interested in long-term care planning. With local offices in 13 communities and satellite offices statewide, ServiceLink can answer questions and help make connections to local services that support healthy and independent living. ServiceLink is sponsored by the NH Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Elderly and Adult Services, in partnership with local non-profit organizations.

New Hampshire Library Association LogoNew Hampshire Library Association
The New Hampshire Library Association (NHLA) is a professional association of library personnel, trustees and supporters whose purpose is to advocate for the best possible library service for New Hampshire residents. Its mission is to increase public awareness of library service; support the professional development of its members; foster communication and encourage the exchange of ideas among members; and promote participation in the association and its sections. Members of the New Hampshire Library Association are individuals, not libraries. NHLA has about 560 members from across the state, mostly from public libraries.
