About the Knowledge Network


New Hampshire Public Television Knowledge Network provides outstanding media-rich programs, services, and resources to enhance learning outcomes for students, educators, and learners of all ages.


NHPTV KNOWLEDGE NETWORK is recognized throughout New Hampshire and nationally as a trusted and highly-valued resource for quality media-rich curriculum content and professional development services. We promote teaching excellence and seek to meet the needs of educators, childcare providers, parents and students through New Hampshire-based programs.

K-12 PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Provides, free of charge, more than 1,000 hours of pre-K-12 classroom and professional development instructional television series – all aligned to NH curriculum state standards.

Reaches over 14,600 educators, pre-service teachers, and home-schoolers, including 472 public schools serving 206,847 students.

Conducts on-site technology-based workshops and consultations.

mock Expands the reach of educators via distance learning – multimedia instruction, video conferencing, and on-line tools.

Supports the Mock Election project, which increases awareness of the election process and encourages a new generation to vote.

Hosts the annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest. More than 1,000 children in K-4th grade submit stories annually.

READY TO LEARN SERVICE

Prepares children up to age 8 for success in school.

Airs more than 56 hours of quality children’s programming each week.

Distributes new books annually to kids across the state.

Delivers over 68 workshops reaching 1,324 caregivers and early education professionals directly and indirectly impacting 10,000 children.

Susan came to NHPTV in 1992 from North Carolina Public Television. She coordinates K-12 services for the Knowledge Network, provides training for teachers to help them effectively integrate technology into their teaching, and maintains the NHPTV Knowledge Network website. Phone: 603-868-4354

Ready to Learn Coordinator
Heather came to NHPTV in February 2007. She works with schools, social service agencies, and childcare centers, and parents to help them fully utilize PBS children’s programs and promote family literacy.
