Anatidae - Ducks, Geese, Swans
There are about 158 species in this family, and they are found in all parts of the world, except for the Antarctic. They are found on lakes, ponds, rivers and streams, and marshes. Most of the species in this order are herbivores and eat leaves, stems, roots, seeds, and other plant parts. Many species may also eat insects, small fish, mollusks, and crustaceans. The birds in this species have webbed feet and broad bills. Chicks are precocial and feed themselves and swim a few hours after birth. Many birds in this family are migratory and live in flocks.
